Ryan Farnsworth passed away peacefully on February 19, 2019, in Sonoma, California, surrounded by his loving family.
Ryan Farnsworth was born in Monterey California on October 1, 1986. He was a son, brother, nephew, friend, writer, poet, inspirational speaker, lover of nature and meditation, singer of songs and a student of the world. He was also a person living with ALS. Ryan enjoyed board games with family, hiking, snowboarding and long walks and rides enjoying the beautiful nature that surrounded him.
Ryan grew up in Fresno and Monterey and was currently living in Sonoma, CA. He majored in communications at Fresno State University and spent time in India where he volunteered as a teacher. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2015 at the age of 29 while living in Telluride, CO. He quickly became a spokesperson for the ALS Association and spoke at their many events. He published his first book "Seeds of Light Sown" in 2016 and recently completed his second book, "Insights To Light The Way: What Life and ALS Have Taught Me About Living Well", which will be available summer 2019.
He is survived by his parents Trisha Rice and Ray Farnsworth, step-father Bob Rice, brother Jeff Pascua, sisters Laura Pascua and Olivia Farnsworth.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church Burlingame Hall, with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Ryan to The ALS Association Golden West Chapter-28632 Roadside Dr #173 Agoura Hills CA 91301 (818) 865-8067.
