It is believed he married Elizabeth Cassandra Knott at St Mary’s Islington on the 25th August 1819.
He was an agricultural labourer in 1841., living in a cottage in the area now occupied by houses in Gordon Road. It is believed they had lived in the village since at least 1827 when their daughter Mary Charlotte Brown was baptised on the 16th December; their son James was baptised at St Peter’s on the 27th June 1830.
This is not certain as in 1851, after the death of her father Mary gives her place of birth as Lewes in Sussex. This is contradicted by the 1841 census giving her place of birth as Surrey. So maybe she was born in Lewes and baptised in Frimley.
William was buried at St Peter’s 20th June 1849 aged 68.
