Colin graduated from Mississippi State University in 1969 with a major in Forestry and a minor in Electrical Engineering. He then began working for the Mississppi State Forestry Commission in Rolling Fork. After a number of years, he began a new challenge and opened his own electrical company which he sold to begin a career with General Motors. His duties including keeping the assembly line moving by maintaining the computers and robots that are the mainstay of the modern assembly line.

He was loved by his family. Including three step-daughters that he raised as his own and a sister that remained close to him no matter how far they lived apart. Everyone knew Colin as a simple, down to earth man that was always ready for a conversation. His laughter was infectious, always inviting others to join in. Community was important to Colin.

Colin was interested in many things from hunting to gardening, but his two true passions were photography and politics. He considered it his civic responsibility to be informed on matters of local, state, and national issues and attended public meeting on all issues in his community. Improving the education in Louisiana and teaching others about their rights as citizens were dear to his heart.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Colleen Hartline and his step-daughters, Torrie Pizzolat, Tanya McGinnis, and Cheryl Shepherd.
