Lavonne Klinzing, 89, of Richland Center, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. Born on April 10, 1929, to Burl and Thelma (Neefe) Gault in Richland Center, Wisconsin, Lavonne resided in Richland County her entire life. She graduated from Richland Center High School and married Fred Hanzel. They had 3 children. Fred passed away in 1960, and Lavonne later married Ralph Klinzing of Richland Center. Lavonne and Ralph enjoyed years of traveling, extensively. Lavonne worked at a variety of jobs in her early adult years, but her legacy will be that she was a full-time wife and mother and enjoyed years of caring for her family. She was fortunate to know and have a close relationship with all of her grandchildren and many of their children.

She is survived by 3 children, Richard “Dick” (Suzanne) Hanzel of Oregon, WI, Dorothy (Terry) Chitwood of Richland Center, WI, Janet (Herb) Irvin of Fort Collins, CO; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her sister, Lorraine Pisciotta. In 1965 Franco Frongia of Sardinia, Italy lived with the family as an exchange student and remains close to the family to this day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Thelma; her husband Fred Hanzel and her husband Ralph Klinzing.

No services will be held at this time, a celebration of Lavonne’s life will be held in the spring at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home. Lavonne’s family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Schmitt Woodland Hills for their attentiveness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Schmitt Woodland Hills or Agrace Hospice, in Lavonne’s name.
