Richard "Dick" K. Barber, 83, of Jamesville, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, after a long illness. He graduated from Eastwood High in 1953 and attended Syracuse University in 1954. In 1958, he graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy. He was a Pharmacist for over 56 years. Dick was an active member at First Baptist Church of Syracuse, Howlett Hill Presbyterian Church and the First Baptist Church of Manlius over the years. He was a 32nd degree Mason at Fayetteville Central City Lodge #305 F & AM and belonged to the Scottish Rite. He served on the Board of the Empire State Theater & Music Instrument Museum. Dick was a sports lover and coach for many years. He was a genuine "people person" He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda; two sons, Steve (Danielle) and Doug (Heather); grandsons, Les and Ethan; and granddaughter on the way, Stella. His funeral will be Monday evening at 6 at the First Baptist Church of Manlius, 408 Pleasant Street, Manlius. Interment will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-6 pm, prior to the service at church. Members of Central City Lodge will meet at the church at 5:45 pm for ritualistic services.
