Funeral services for Anna Toerber, 92, formerly of Stanwood, were held at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 19 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. Mrs. Toerber died Sept. 16 at the home of her son, Erwin, in Cedar Rapids.
Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch, organist, and the adult choir. Pallbearers were John P. Donohoe, Tom Donohoe, Ernest Von Behren, Art Kintzel, Lawrence Ruther and Willard Eiler.
Mrs. Toerber was born April 29, 1886 at Tipton, the daughter of Franz and Elizabeth Peters Dettmann. She married John Toerber Feb. 15, 1905, at Clarence.
Survivors include one son, Erwin, Cedar Rapids; one grandson; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Fisher, Clarence and Ida Hein, Vinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and 6 brothers.
