At his home east of Fairbury, Bernard Connell died on Friday, February 4th, The cause of his death was general debility and old age. He was born in Caven county Ireland, February 18, 1834 and died at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Mr. Connell emigrated to America in 1860, locating in New Jersey. He moved to Nebraska in 1881, first locating on a farm south of Fairbury and afterwards living east of Fairbury for many years.
He was married to Miss Anna Redmond in Illinois in 1865. His wife died in this county eight years ago. They had one son, Peter J. Connell, who lives on the home farm with his family.
Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the Catholic church in Fairbury, Rev. Father J. J. Carey officiating. The remains were interred in the Fairbury cemetery.
