Her mother was Elizabeth Jane Wideman, born in Alabama about 1853. Her mother was last known of in the 1880 census in Dallas County, Texas, and probably died within the next few years. Her father remarried sometime between 1880 and 1886.

Frankie Bazemore was noted in the 1880 census living on a farm in Dallas County, Texas, with parents I. D. [B.] and Jane, grandmother S. E. Bazemore, uncle Henry Bazemore, and siblings: Laura, 10; Ella, 6; Fannie, 3; and baby Henry, 3 months. Although Frankie's parents had been born and married in Alabama, all of the children had been born in Texas.

Frankie Bazemore and John Scott were married in Bastrop County, Texas, on Dec. 9, 1889. In 1900, the census found Frankie and John living on a farm five miles southeast of Elgin in Bastrop County with their three children: Beulah, Walter, and Lola. In 1910 the census once again found Frankie and John living on a farm near Elgin with late arrival "Jesse" [Chessie] evening the child count up at two boys and two girls. By the time of the 1920 census only adolescent Chessie was left at home on the farm with Frankie and John. In 1930 and 1940, the census found Frankie and John living on the farm with adult son Chessie, who worked the farm with his aging father.
