Frankie Bazemore and John Scott were married in Bastrop County, Texas, on Dec. 9, 1889. In 1900, the census found Frankie and John living on a farm five miles southeast of Elgin in Bastrop County with their three children: Beulah, Walter, and Lola. In 1910 the census once again found Frankie and John living on a farm near Elgin with late arrival "Jesse" [Chessie] evening the child count up at two boys and two girls. By the time of the 1920 census only adolescent Chessie was left at home on the farm with Frankie and John. In 1930 and 1940, the census found Frankie and John living on the farm with adult son [Chessie, who worked the farm with his aging father.
