Carol Jean Bacon passed away in a residential care facility in Hollister at the age of 93. She was born in San Jose and lived over 85 years in San Benito County. She came here from Campbell in 1933. She was a graduate of San Jose State and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing San Francisco in 1947. She was a member of the Methodist Church, San Benito Co. Cattlewomen, Bear Valley Home Dept., and The Native Daughters of the Golden West.
She is survived by her children, Jean Barrett (John) of Hollister, Susan Tonjes (Steve) of Discovery Bay and John Bacon of Elk Creek, MO, her brother, Jerry Kennedy (Anita) of Casa Grande, AZ, sister-in-law Shirley Kennedy, and 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Bacon Jr who died in 2002, She was also preceded in death by her son, Alan Bacon, siblings, Stephen Kennedy, Giles "Bud" Kennedy and Richard Kennedy as well as her parents, Cecil Giles "Pat" and Fay Kennedy.
Friends can pay their respects from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
Donations are preferred to Alzheimers's Association c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.
