Mrs Elmer McMichael, life-long resident of Gentry county died last Friday at her home in Albany at the age of 74 years. Virgie Lane, daughter of Philip and Anna Belle Lane, was born Aug 6, 1881 in Gentry county and departed this life at her home in Albany, June 8, 1956. She had reached the age of 74y 10m 2d. She was united in marriage to William Gabriel in 1900. To this union 3 daughters were born: Mrs May Canaday of Gentry, Mrs Faye Malson of Albany and Mrs Stella Best of Darlington. She was later united in marriage to Elmer McMichael on Jan 5, 1912. To this union 5 children were born: Mrs Grace Hardin of Albany, Mrs Velva Walton of Island City, Frank McMichael of Barnard, Vernon McMichael of Guilford and a son, Elsworth, who preceded her in death. Her husband, Elmer, died Oct 19, 1950.

She is also survived by 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Samuel Lane of Skidmore, Philip Lane of St Joseph, Elmer E Lane of Kansas City, Charles Omar Lane of Maryville, Mrs Emma Summa of Hartford, KS, Mrs Grace Osborne of Gentry, Mrs Mabel Johnston of Ridgefield, WA and Mrs Myrtle McClellan of Albany. One sister preceded her in death Jul 23, 1949.

Mrs McMichael also is survived by a step-daughter, Flora Davidson of Maryville and 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends and neighbors. She was converted early in life under Rev Nigh at Gentry. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Gentry Baptist church by the Rev Roy Lamb of Denver. Interment was in Greenridge cemetery.
