Joe Don Thompson, 83, passed away Jan. 14, 2019 in Irving, Texas. He was born Oct. 2, 1935 in Crowell, Texas to W.C. and Daisy Mae Phillips Thompson. He was an Army Veteran and owned his own insurance company. He was known for his storytelling, love of political debate and football. He is survived by his wife Patti and 1 daughter Chris Russell; 4 grandchildren Cody, Lacy, Tracy and Casey Russell; brothers Bryant Thompson and Bill Gannaway, one sister Margaret Reynolds and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter Tracey Thompson, brothers J.C. and Jerry Frank Thompson, one sister Dorothy Mae Autry and a niece Delaine Duree. Funeral services were held at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving.
