Henry Hix, son of John Hix and Margaret Reutzel Hix, was born at Odebolt, May 30, 1876, and died at his home Jan. 6, 1953, having reached the age of 75 years, 7 months and 7 days. He received his education in the rural schools.
On Jan. 6, 1909, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Buehler. They established their home on a farm north of Odebolt. In September of 1935 they moved to their present home in Odebolt. He was baptized in infancy and became a member of the Methodist church. He served as a member on the board of trustees many years, and has been a loyal and faithful member.
Surviving are his wife, Anna, a son, Marion, daughter-in-law Maxine, of Odebolt, a daughter, Louise, of Des Moines, a a sister, Eva, of Clear Lake, a brother, Conrad, of Alta, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his twin brother, Edward, two other brothers, George and Charles, and a sister, Caroline.
Burial was in the Odebolt cemetery with Walter Hix, William Hix, Robert Buehler, John B. Buehler, Ray Johnson and Warren L. Hanson as the pallbearers. Mrs. Helen Paul and Mrs. Alvin Krusenstjerna were in charge of the flowers.
