Ruth O'Neal

Ruth O'Neal, 83, of Rhodel, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007, at he home of her sister, Greta Bolen at Ballard, after a long illness.

Born in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of Walter and Addie Webb Perdue. Ruth was a born again Christian.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess O'Neal; son, Eddie Hornsby; brother, Gerald Perdue; and sisters Kitty Hughes and Mary Nell Fortner.

Survivors include her son, Billy Hornsby and wife Bonnie, of Ghent; daughter Delean Bolen of Beckley; sister Greta Bolen and husband, the Rev. Larry Bolen of Ballard, who had been her caregivers; brothers, Harold Perdue; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Williams- Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia, with the Rev. Gary Eskins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family 6 to 8 p.m. Monday athe the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Lewisburg for all the love and care they gave to Ruth.
