Thomas was born February 26, 1948 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Jim Rabb and Mildred Whisnant Rabb. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. In addition, he continued his military career by working for the Civil Service as an air craft welder at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Thomas also taught a welding class at Isothermal Community College. He was a member of Danieltown Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a skilled carpenter and an outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Guffey, Hazel Abernathy, Diane Dunagan and two brothers, Charles Rabb and James Rabb.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-two years, Beverly Humphries Rabb; son, Thomas Roger Rabb, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Forest City, NC; two grandchildren, Kristen Splawn, Corey Street and three great-grandchildren, Parker Splawn, Trinix Splawn and Alec Street.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Creighton Lovelace officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
