Mrs. Leonard (Alice) Bartels

Mrs. Leonard (Alice) Bartels, 85, 944 Coppens Rd., died Saturday evening at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1902 in Menominee, Mich. to the late Theophile and Pauline Valcq. On July 26, 1921 she married Leonard Bartels. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 1981.

Mrs. Bartels had been employed at the Northland Hotel for many years. She was a long time member of Annunciation Parish, and was also a member of the Golden Age Club.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Diana Bartels, Dousman; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Marvin Swanson, Menominee, Mich.; Dorothy and Merrill Allard, Green Bay; Eleanor Lasee, De Pere; Luella Petrosky, and Shirley and Myron Bodart, all of Green Bay; Gladys and Robert Warrens, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Diane and Ralph Cavaiani, New Berlin; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Nehring, Green Bay; Mrs. Frank (Helen) Haulotte, Menominee, Mich.; one brother, George Valcq, Menominee, Mich.; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Bartels, and one daughter, Lorraine Larson.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Parish wake service 7:45 this evening. Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church with the Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
