While in high school, he formed along with Danny Rapp and David White the vocal group "Danny and the Juniors" and in 1957, they scored number one hit with "At The Hop." The song achieved gold record status and at the height of their popularity, they performed on "The Dick Clark Show" and appeared in the film "Let's Rock" (1958). Additional Top 40 hits include "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay" (1958), "Dottie" (1958) and "Twistin' USA" (1960). After the group disbanded, Terry remained an active performer over the next several decades. He was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame as a member of "Danny and the Juniors" in 1991.
