Pamelia Harriett Leggett was the daughter of Joshua A. Leggett Sr. and Jane Jean Guthrie. She was born on a farm. She was a girl of exceptional even temperament and was educated in the country school and was loved by all who knew her. She married William Ira Kennedy Sr. on Feb. 11, 1865 in Tuscarawas Co., OH. When Pamelia Harriett and William Ira married, they lived in Carroll Co., OH for three years and then settled on a farm in Fairfield Twp., OH. They acquired an excellent farm of 245 acres of well-improved land. They were memebers of the New Cumberland Presbyterian Church-New Cumberland, Tuscarawas Co., OH. They had seven children: Olive Matilda, James Barton, Frank Audley, Joshua Laird, Clifton Ira, Roy Villars and Jane.
