Charles Newell, 52, of Sullivan, IN formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 3:35 a.m (EST) on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Union Hospital Terre Haute, IN.

He was born on July 15, 1966 in Robinson, IL, the son of Floyd Newell & Ruby (Fitzpatrick) Newell; both of whom preceded in death.

He is survived by his step-mother, Mary Ellen Newell (Sullivan, IN); by his brother, Todd Newell (Sullivan, IN); by his sister & brother-in-law, Lisa & Larry Stewart (Robinson, IL); by his step-sister, Elizabeth Brown (Sullivan, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charles grew up in Palestine, IL and was a 1985 graduate of Palestine High School. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. In his free time, Charles enjoyed painting. At times he was known as a quiet man, but he also had a sense of humor that will not be forgotten.

A time of visitation will be held 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Paster Mark Bailey officiating. Memorials may be made to “Crawford County Relay for Life.
