Sacred to the memory of Abraham Knight who departed this life the 21st Sept’r 1827 aged 61 years.
He was a Native of Ilfracombe in the county of Devon England from whence he emigrated to this country at an early age.
He lived at Poplar Grove, the Residence of Charles Elliott Rowand, in the capacity of a Carpenter 27 years where he perfom’d with strict integrity the various duties assigned him.
He was a skillful and industrious Mechanic, an honest and benevolent man and a good member of Society.
This Stone Erected by Charles Elliott Rowand, as an humble tribute of his many virtues.
