She was born April 3, 1927 on Lasqueti Island, in the Gulf of Georgia in B.C. to Merian Copley and Harriet Owens Copley. She was the youngest of 10 children. She worked hard but found time for swimming in the ocean, hiking, singing and reading. At age 18, she moved to Vancouver to work. It was there she met Dennis. They were married on July 13, 1949 in the Cardston Alberta Temple and after some time, settled in the Beazer hills where they raised their son and seven daughters.
LaVonne loved flowers, gardening, genealogy, and writing short stories and poetry. She loved her family and they enjoyed working, singing and being together. She loved the Lord and instilled that love in her family. Serving in her church and the temple brought her so much joy. For many years she and Dennis served in the Cardston Temple and they served a mission in the Toronto, Ontario Temple.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, Cardston, Alberta. Friends may meet the family at the Church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service. Interment to follow in the Beazer Cemetery.
