MARICOPA COUNTY — Andrew Ortega, 31, of Tempe, AZ died on Feb. 03, 2019.


Andrew Ortega, age 31, formally of Hobbs, New Mexico, currently living in Maricopa, Arizona, went to be with our loving Father in Heaven, on February 03, 2019. Andrew was born on June 30, 1987 to Sergio Ortega and Josie Ortega in Hobbs, New Mexico. Andrew was proceeded in death by an older brother, Jarrayd Ortega, who was also his best friend. They enjoyed playing various sports together, such as, basketball, golf, poker, and pool.


Andrew was known for being very active on social media, taking selfies and creating videos to make people laugh. He had a contagious smile and gave such warm, affectionate hugs. Andrew never met a stranger he didnt get along with. He had a unique way of connecting with people. He was fun loving and was the life of the party. No matter what room he entered, he always wanted to be the center of attention, just a he will be when he enters Heaven's gates.


Andrew is survived by his loving mother and step-dad, Josie Ortega and Danny Mendiola, and step brother Jonathan Mendiola. He leaves his loving father, Sergio and step mother Denise Ortega and sisters Caitlin and Regina. He also leaves maternal grandparents, Martin Ramirez and Cruz Gallegos. Paternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Martha Ortega. Also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and others whose lives Andrew touched. He is proceeded in death by brother Jarrayd Matthew Ortega and maternal grandfather, Robert Gallegos. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with.


Private viewing for the family will be held at Angels in Waiting. Viewing and Funeral will be held at Double Butte Cemetery, 2025 W. Broadway Rd, Tempe, Az on Saturday February 9, 2019. He is dearly loved and missed, may he continue to rest peacefully!!!!
