Hamlet - Funeral services for Mrs. William Whisman, 74, of Hamlet, who died yesterday noon, following a stroke of paralysis, suffered last Friday, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock in the Hamlet Presbyterian church. The Rev. Frank J. Medford of the Aledo Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hamlet cemetery.
Mrs. Whisman is the former Miss Elizabeth Kuhr, daughter of John and Catherine Merley Kuhn of Argos, Ind. She was born May 26, 1869, in Argos, where she was reared and educated. On Oct. 10, 1889, she was married to William Whisman at Walnut, Ill. They moved to Hamlet in 1897, moving to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, in 1915, where they lived until 18 years ago. They then returned to Hamlet, where the family still resides. Mrs. Whisman was a member of tthe Hamlet Presbyterian church and was very active in its work until her health failed four years ago.
Survivors are the widower; a daughter, Mrs. O. H. Lee, Aledo; four sisters, Mrs. John Herbick, Rochester, Ind., Mrs. John Urschel, Tippecanoe, Ind., Mr.s Mary Stockberger, Newton, Iowa, and Mrs. C. L. Packer, Maxwell, Iowa; four grandsons, three of whom are serving in the armed forces, and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother and a daughter.
