Emma Jane Holman Rigby was born April 21, 1879 at Santaquin, Utah, a daughter of John Greenleaf Holman and Sarah Loader Holman. They moved to Rexburg, Idaho when she was six years old. She attended a private school and later the first public school in Rexburg. She was later a student at the Bannock Stake Academy.
She suffered a stroke at 3 pm Tuesday and died at 1:30 pm at a Rexburg Hospital.
She married Lorenzo Yates Rigby on 28 October 1903 in the Logan Temple in Logan Utah.
Survivors include her husband, L.Y. Rigby, a daughter, Emma Coleman (Alex) of St. Anthony, six grandchildren, Anna Jane, John, Julia, Rhea, Reta, Emma Lou, brothers and sisters, Zelphia Bramwell of Salt Lake City, Albert and Ezekial Holman of Sugar City, Mrs. Nora Buchanan of Pleasant Grove, Utah.
During her youth she was active in dramatics and once played a child in a traveling Pioneer Theater.
She was a Relief Society President, Stake Primary Board, was first to compile histories of the organizations, and was active in the MIA and in the Ward Choir.
Funeral services well be Saturday at 1:30 pm in Rexburg First Ward Chapel with Bishop Russell Flamm officiating. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
