Emma Rigby Coleman 93, of Jerome Idaho, was born September 11, 1904 in Rexburg, Idaho. Her parents were Lorenzo Yates Rigby and Emma Jane Holman. She was their only child.
She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Brigham Young University in Provo, and University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She taught school in Fremont, Madison, and Jerome County Schools.
She married Alexander Ostberg Coleman, June 4, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Plano, Wilford and Jerome, Idaho. She moved to Jerome in 1961.
She was noted throughout her life for her beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the LDS Church, holding many positions in the Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and Sunday School.
Surviving are her children Anna Jane, (Cleon) Anderson, Rhea (Darrell) Orr, Reta (Bud) Allgood, Emma Lou (Nolan) Bloom all of the St. Anthony area, John (Marge) Coleman of Twin Falls, and Julia Powell of Jerome, 22 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 25 October 1997 at 1 pm Jerome 6th LDS Ward Chapel on Tiger Road in Jerome. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls under the direction of Bert Flamm Motuary of St. Anthony
