Birth: 1814 • Rural area outside of Dandridge, Jefferson, Tennessee, USA. He would have been born at home and they lived between 5-10 miles from Dandridge.
Marriage: 5 Jan 1835 • Probably in Monroe County, Tennessee, USA. John, who lived next door to Henry Farrow Gann in 1840 Monroe County, Tennessee, was the same person as the John of Pulaski County, Missouri. Henry and John (half-uncle/nephew) lived on each side of the elderly James Adams. John and his wife, Sally Adams, almost certainly married in Monroe County.
An extensive DNA study by genealogist, Thea Baker, has proven that his mother was Elizabeth Gann. She was born a Gann not an Adams. She was the daughter of Jane Abel and Adam Gann. She had two husbands, 1. Thomas Farrow/Fairer and 2. John McCarter-Gann. You can check out the information on the Gann Historical Society and Library website for more information.
