Jeannette Kartchner Ellis, age 71 and a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Opelousas General Health Systems.
Jeannette cherished her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed doing yardwork and watching tv with her two best friends, Sue and Nancy. Everyone loved going to Nette's home for her cooking. She was a woman of great faith, who loved her church family. Jeannette will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Shawn Ellis and his wife, Marcy; daughter, Angel Ellis Guillory and her husband, Wayne; extended daughter, Celeste Ward; sister, Vicki Fontenot; grandchildren, Matthew Breaux and his wife, Alicia, Jarred Breaux and his wife, Amber, Joseph Guillory, Lacey Ellis, Lauren Ellis, Lexie Ellis, Tyler Moore, Lani Moore, Mara Badeaux and Bailey Ringo; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Lucas Liam, Silas, Bennett, Zynlie and Liam; and her special family, James Mayer, Bryan Mayer, Blaise Mayer, J.J. Mayer, Kati Mayer and Blaine Mayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Ellis; son, Shayne Ellis; parents, Culver Darian Kartchner and Elvie Bryant Kartchner; and sister, Claudette Kartchner.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs. It will resume on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
