AIDA GARCIA TAYLOR, AGE 83

and a resident of Pine died Sunday afternoon May 12, 2019 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a native of Honduras but had lived in the United States most of her life. Aida worked for NASA during the time of the first moon landing. She later became a nurse and worked in New Orleans, where she met her husband, the late Norman S. Taylor. They were married 56 years at the time of his death in February and always did everything together. They spent many years in California and then later retired to Washington Parish in 2002. Aida enjoyed gardening for vegetables and flowers and loved to spend time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Alma Celeste Taylor, son Ceasar Rojas, parents Cornelius and Victoria Garcia, siblings Zoila Mendoza, Rolando Garcia.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday May 17th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Bro. Lavern Cook, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
