Rashawn Brazell, of Brooklyn, disappeared Feb. 14. Several days later, parts of his body were found in a Brooklyn subway tunnel and later at a recycling plant.It has been labeled as one of the most horrific, unsolved murder cases in the state of New York.

Rashawn Brazell April 15, 1985 – 2005

In February 2005, after he disappeared from his home in Bushwick, Brooklyn, 19-year-old Brazell's dismembered body parts were found in garbage bags strewn throughout the borough.

The medical examiner believes Rashawn was imprisoned for two days, and there is some evidence that he may have been tortured, before he was killed, dismembered and disposed of in the trash bags.

When Rashawn's disappearance and murder first unfolded, media refused to cover his story, which in return caused outrage and responses from bloggers and activists arguing that his murder received very little coverage due to the fact that he was a black gay working-class male. Rashawn's case has since aired numerous times both Nationally and locally on America's Most Wanted.
