Lila Young Hewitt was born to Nellie and Paul Young on April 6, 1922 in Terry, Montana, and passed away peacefully on June 14, 2007. She attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, and moved to Tacoma shortly after. There she met and was married to Daniel J. Hewitt until his death in 1999. Lila's many interests included the Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma Garden Club, and Woodbrook Hunt Club. Lila loved life and brought to it her full commitment, originality and enthusiasm. She was a wonderful cook and hostess, creating many memories for family and friends, always bringing people together. She became a loyal Mariners fan. Lila is survived by her daughter Kim Suyama (George Suyama) of Seattle and many nieces and nephews. Our love goes with her. Our thanks to her many friends and caregivers at Bridgeport Place, University Place Care Center, and Franciscan Hospice. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 2:30 pm at the old Tacoma Cemetery, 4801 S. Tacoma Way. Remembrances may be sent to Franciscan Hospice, 2019 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466.
