Funeral rites will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted at gravesite at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitations may be made from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sorensen was born June 5, 1890 in Them, Denmark, to Mr. and Mrs. Lars Sorensen. He received his secular and religious education in the country of his birth. When he was 19, he came to the United States and to Aurora, Neb. In 1917, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until he was honorably discharged at the end of the conflict.
He later was employed at the Soldiers & Sailors Home in Grand Island. Then, he began his work for Fairmont Foods. For several years, he was the head butter-maker for the firm at the Grand Island plant. When the firm closed the Grand Island plant, he becam an employe in the Dietetic Services at the Veterans Hospital, a position he held until his retirement in 1957.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his native country.
He and Miss Adeline Spinas were married Nove 27, 1920 in Grand Island. Mrs. Sorensen died in May of 1958. Mr. Sorensen is survived by his children; Mrs. Henry (Marian) Busig, of Grand Island, Mrs. Earl (Viola) Wilson of Columbus; Mrs. Ron (Janice) Falldorf of Glendora, Calif., and Arnold Sorensen of Antioch, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
