"HONORED RESIDENT OF TITUSVILLE PASSES AWAY - Mrs Katherine Gundaker Had Lived For 60 Years in One Location - Mrs Katherine Gundaker, aged 83 years, one of the oldest and most beloved residents of Titusville, died at 4:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at her residence, 411 West Elm street, after an illness of six weeks. Her death occurred in the exact location, though not in the same house, in which she had lived for 60 years. Mrs Gundaker was the daughter of Katherine and Henry Borntrager, Troy township pioneers. She was born in the province of Bavaria, Germany, on March 17, 1845, and came to this country in her early girlhood. She was married on May 19, 1865, to Adam Gundaker, who was an honored resident of Titusville for many years, passing away about three years ago. The deceased leaves two daughters - Mrs A H Reid of this city and Mrs C M Gray of Beaver; two grandchildren - G Allen Reid of Elizabeth, NJ, and Mrs James Allison of Beaver; and one sister, Mrs Benjamin Prather of Hubbard, Oregon. Mrs Gundaker was for many years a member of St Paul's Reformed church. The death of Mrs Gundaker removes a woman who was generally beloved in the community, having endeared herself to both old and young over a period of many years by her many acts of kindness and admirable traits of character. In her own immediate neighborhood her passing brings particular regret and grief because of the intimate part she played in the everyday lives of her neighbors, contributing much to their joy and happiness and sharing their trials and sorrows. By these and others Mrs Gundaker will always be held in loving memory. The funeral services will be held at the residence, Monday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev F E Lahr of Ridgway, a former pastor of St Paul's Reformed church here, officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn cemetery."
