Joseph "Joe" William Thames, 72, of McComb died June 1, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Thames was born on January 12, 1947, In Lincoln County to the late William Pink Thames and Leona Etiel Thames.
He was retired from Bell South as a repairman. He was a U S Army veteran and member of Holmesville Baptist Church.
Mr. Thames was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jacy Thames, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Jason Thames (Amanda) and Kevin Thames both of McComb, a sister Georgie Thames of Ruth, Grandchildren, Stromie Thames and Kelly Thames and a great grandchild, Bryce Pitts, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 3 from 6 PM till 8 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 AM from Hartman Jones Chapel. Interment will follow at Pike Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honor of Mr. Thames.
