Mrs. Jaunelle Mattox, 87, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at her residence, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Mattox was born October 25, 1931, in Clinch County, GA to the late Jesse James and Minda Steedley. She was a homemaker and also a business owner of Mattox Blueberries. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, GA. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Sarah Dorman, Geraldine Chatman, Dartha Guess & Lola Mae Steedley and two brothers: James Earl Steedley & Ransom Steedley

Survivors are her husband of seventy years Chester Mattox-Homerville, GA; one daughter and son-in-law: Ann & Mark Simpson-Fernandina Beach, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lee & Lajuanta Mattox, Norris & Regina Mattox all of Homerville, GA; three sisters: Janice(Elroy)Douglas, Iris Smith, and Robbin Jewell; one sister-in-law: Tammis Steedley, all of Homerville; one brother: Jesse Reavis(Debby)Steedley-Homerville, GA; five grandchildren: Dewey(Jenifer)Lee-Jacksonville, FL, Pepsee(Tye)Tyson-Dublin, Ga, Jess(Leah)Mattox-Jacksonville, FL, Morgan(Brandon)Morris-Pearson, GA, Dillon Mattox, Daniel Cason, & Lucas Cason, all of Homerville, GA; five great-grandchildren: Layla Tanner, Lyla Tanner, Chatham Tyson, Elleigh Tyson all of Dublin, GA and Mattox Morris of Pearson, GA, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattox will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.

Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
