H/O Otilia nee Kroninger Betz. He served in the Civil War. He died about a month after being discharged from service. There were four children born to their short marriage. There is a Carl Frank (Franklin) and Mary J. that died very young buried beside William and Otilia and two sons, Alfred of Philadelphia and Oscar of Weisenburg were still living in 1930. I cannot prove that this Samuel is his father but was requested by someone but do assume it certainly could be based on the dates. The censuses have Samuel born between 1791 and 1793 and he was still living at the age of 89 in 1880.
