Godfrey “Raymond” Geier, 70, Lyons, passed away June 9, 2019 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born on May 27, 1949 in Lamar, Colorado, the son of Godfrey R. and Agatha Hoffman Geier. Raymond graduated from Garden City High School with the class of 1967, and received his business degree from Garden City Community College. He has resided in Lyons since 1971, formerly of Garden City, Kansas. Raymond was a grocery store owner for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons; 50 year member and past Grand Knight of Knight of Columbus. On May 16, 1970, Raymond was united in marriage with Dorothy Lou Hahn in Garden City, Kansas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his three sons, Scott Geier and wife Carol of Lyons, Curt Geier of Lyons, and Kevin Geier of Derby, KS; brothers, Jerry Geier and wife Brenda of Garden City, KS, Paul Geier and wife Tami of Weston, ID, Pat Geier of Garden City, KS, and Ed Geier of Highland, IL; sisters, Judy Hunt and husband Doug of Garden City, KS, Joann Schlappe and husband Gary of Delafield, WI, Ruth Drees and husband Darrel of Garden City, KS, Sara Saloga and husband Dennis of Garden City, KS, and Monica Geier of Montezuma, KS; sister-in-law, Ellen Geier of Garden City, KS; and two grandchildren, Ryan Moore and Kallie Geier. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Geier. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Father Patrick Kotrba officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons and from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with family present. A Parish Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons or Reno County Hospice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
