She belonged to the Allegheny County Counselors Association and Friendly Squares dance troupe in Pittsburgh. She was co-founder and trainer of the Stephen Ministers at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, a community chairperson and a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of America. Her hobbies were sailing, water skiing, snow skiing and rollerblading.
