Long Time Resident of Eagle Grove Passed Away Last Wednesday Evening.

The funeral of Mrs. Frank Pohlman was held at the home on East Broadway Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Haney had charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Pohlman had been in poor health for several months and the end which came Wednesday evening about 10:30 was not unexpected. The deceased was 71 years, 6 months and 2 days of age.

The many friends of this well known family extend sincere sympathy in their sorrow.

Obituary

Margaret Broeffle, daughter of William H. and Eliza Broeffle, was born in New York Feb. 24, 1854. While she was a small child, she with her parents, moved to Mendota, Ill. There, fifty-three years ago, she was united in marriage with Frank Pohlman. Eight years later the family moved to a farm four miles southeast of Clarion, where they made their home, until they came to Eagle Grove 22 years ago.

Mr. Pohlman passed away in 1916. For the last few years Mrs. Pohlman has made her home with her sons. To Mr. and Mrs. Pohlman were born six sons and two daughters. Two sons and one daughter have preceded their mother in death. The five living children are: Fred of Clarion; Frank of Montezuma; Clarence of Mason City; Herman of Eagle Grove; and the daughter, Mrs. Emil Olson of Des Moines. In addition to her children there are five sisters, Mrs. Viola Keena, Mrs. M. E. Foss, Mrs. Charles Pohlman and Mrs. Emma Mosher, all of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Josephine Fisher of Seattle, Wash. Two brothers survive, William Broeffle of Bennell, Ill., and Henry Broeffle of Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Pohlman was a member of the Christian Church of Clarion.
