Born in 1876 in Salem, Illinois, Mr. Pohlman was reared and educated there. He married Marie Ludden in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1932, and came to Rock Island two years later. A former tavern owner, the decedent had been a fireman at the Rock Island Armory for the past three years.
He was of Lutheran faith and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge of Montezuma.
Surviving in addition to the widow, are four daughters by a previous marriage, Margaret Iverson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mrs. Paul Halterman, Grinnell. Iowa, Mrs. Rock Moore, Iowa City, and Edward J Birnbaum, Philadelphia, Pa., and three sons, Clifford, of Wisconsin, and Howard and Frank, of Grinnell.
