Mrs. Bady Davenport was born in Macon, Mississippi, on February 18, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Joiner, Pioneers of this county. When she was three years old she moved with her parents to Bremond, Texas, and in 1880 the family moved to Bandera where they remained the rest of their lives. Mrs. Davenport grew to lovely young womanhood and on May 26, 1892, was happily married to Mark Davenport at Castroville, Texas. he preceded her in death in 1942. Two sons also preceded her in death. Olin passed away in 1945 and Aubrey died in 1957. She is survived by one son, Roland (Rol) Davenport of this city. Mrs. Davenport was the last surviving member of the W. N. Joiner family. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted wife and mother and one of Bandera's beloved gentlewomen.

Funeral services were conducted on June 23, 1961, at 10 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis McNair, pastor of the Bandera Methodist Church, officiating and interment was made in the Bandera cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers who carried the beloved lady to her last resting place were Ed Welch, Otis Evans, B. C. Fleenor, Gilbert Moore, E. R. Lindner and O. O. Adams.

Researcher's note: Some records show her name to have been Beatrice, suggesting that Bady or Baty was a nickname.
