Uriah "Rue" McMurrin Smith was the son of Adam Browning Smith and Isabella McMurrin. He had 1 older brother Robert, a younger brother William and younger sister Margaret plus several half siblings. He moved from Tooele to Salt Lake City as a young boy. He worked in a grocery store and this is where he met Effie Gray. They married in 1908 had 4 children-Evelyn, Ruby, Reed and Elaine. He opened his own grocery store along with apartments. It was located next to the family home on the corner of 4th East and 21st South in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a fun loving man who enjoyed the movies, checkers and choclate covered cherries. A man after my own heart-we would have been great pals Grandpa!
