She was born in Madison, Wis. Jan. 2, 1904 to George and Natalie Tibbits Flynn. In 1933 in Chicago, she
married Dr. Chester C. Doherty, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, and was an actress on radio and television, working with networks NBC and CBS. For ten years she played Sadie on the "Vic and Sadie Show" on WGN radio.
Mrs. Doherty is survived by five sons, Richard J., Brookings, SD, Chester C. Jr., Chicago, Roger D., Del City, Okla., Anthony, Merritt, Fla.,.and R. W. (Bill), Clay City; a brother, Francis Flynn, Austin, Tex.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray Davis, Summit, NJ., Mrs. Jack Scheib, Austin, Tex., and Mrs. Nelson Ross, Hayward, Wis.
She was preceded in death by a brother, her husband, and her parents.
