Bessie Duncan Jordan, 93, of Roxboro, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past 6 1/2 years. Born in Person County, Mrs. Jordan was the daughter of the late George and Nannie Clayton Duncan and wife of the late Alvin Warren Jordan. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker who also worked at Carney's and Village Gate clothing stores and Collins & Aikman. She was one of 11 children. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by eight siblings, Graham Duncan, Bruce Duncan, Marshall Duncan, Curtis "Sonny" Duncan, Carrie Clayton, Ruth Wilkins, Thelma Oakley and Elizabeth Brooks.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by three daughters, Yvonne Jordan, of Aberdeen, Donna Triplett and Betsy Jordan, both of Roxboro; two sisters, Kathleen Ellis of Durham and Florence Wrenn, of Roxboro; one grandchild, Joseph Jordan Lassiter and wife Cassandra, of Pinehurst; one great-grandchild, Lily Marie Lassiter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Donna, 142 Humphries Estate Rd., Roxboro.

Pallbearers will be Alan Duncan, Mark Duncan, Perry Duncan, Edwin Ellis, Johnny Oakley, and Gerald Wilkins.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 5171 Glenwood Ave. Ste. 101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
