First wife was Lucy T Curd who married on Jan 11, 1831 in Barren County, Ky, and had three daughters Letitia Young, Lucy Brent, and Frances Curd. His wife, Lucy, died before the 1840 census and their three daughters moved into their grandparents home of William and Letitia Martin.

In 1841 Woodford married Mary Bryant, (uncle through marriage was Rep Henry Grider) and they had a boy in 1842, named James Bryant Martin (gravesite and obituary has as James Brien Martin) who was raised by his uncle William D Martin in Monroe County, Ky after his parents died in the late 1840s.

Woodford Martin had been living in Barren County in the 1840 census. His exact gravesite is unknown.
