Esther Conkle, 87, 129 S Butler Street, Baltic, died on Thursday, Nov 26, 1998 at Walnut Hills Retirement Home, Walnut Creek, after a brief illness. She had been a resident there since July 1998.
She was born March 14, 1911, in Coshocton County to Edward and Mary (Schlegel) Ames and married Roy Conkle. He died Nov 9, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baltic.
Surviving are a son, Harold (Audrey) Conkle of Sugarcreek; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale and Jim Ames, both of Fresno; and a sister, Virginia (Carl) Davis of Newcomerstown.
In addition to her husband, a son, Wayne Conkle, two grandchildren, three brothers and a sister died previously.
Services were on Monday, Nov 30, at Smith funeral Home in Baltic, with Rev W Eric Walch officiating. Burial was at Coshocton Memory Gardens.
