Raymond Ames
Millersburg - Raymond H. Ames, 92, of Millersburg, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, at Altercare of Millersburg.
Born April 2, 1904, in Coshocton County, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Martha (Schlegel) Ames.
In 1934 he married Jessie Rowe. She preceded him in death on April 14, 1988.
Mr. Ames was an employee of Fixable Co., Briar Hill Stone Co. and the Holmes County Highway Department.
Mr. Ames is survived by five sons, . . ., Jack [1931-2006] of Carrollton, . . . ; 10 daughters, . . . Virginia Barnhart [1938-2003] and husband . . . , Shirley Martin [1941-2007] and husband . . . ; 53 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Ames and James Ames, both of Clark; and two sisters, Esther Conkle of Baltic and Virginia Davis of Coshocton.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Ames was preceded in death by two sons, four daughters, a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. David Carrick officiating. Burial will follow in Christy Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
