Steven “Zeke” Harvell, 63, of Deadwood, Ore., originally of Taylorville, Ill., departed this world at 10:45 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019.

He was born September 12, 1955 in Taylorville, Ill., the son of Dudley and Betty Harvell.

Zeke was raised in the Hewittville and Taylorville area, but he found his home in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He was unparalleled; the life of the party with a huge, magnetic personality. Zeke made friends and incredible memories wherever he went. He will truly be missed and never forgotten.

Surviving are his daughters, Jemma Elliot of Stevenson Ranch, Calif. and Andrea (Robert) Novick of Deadwood, Ore.; honorary children: Heather McMaster-Wills of Junction City, Ore. and Phil McMaster of Mapleton, Ore.; granddaughters: Cecilia (Stephen Tylor) Fitzsimmons of McDonald, Tenn., Kaia Elliot, and Kadiyah Novick; siblings: Tom (Karen) Harvell of Taylorville, Ill., Cherilyn Mundhenke of Morrisonville, Ill., Christine Harvell Manzi of Henderson, Nev., Kathy (Michael) Hemmer of Summit, Ore., and Melissa (Mark) Randolph of Garland, Texas; nieces and nephews: Lori Herman of Springfield, Ill., Jerry (Kristy) Harvell of Taylorville, Ill., Shelly Fryer of Henderson, Nev., Shawn Harris of Morrisonville, Ill., Jamie (Elvis) Painter Witt of Eugene, Ore., Emily Painter of Henderson, Nev., Mark Alan Randolph of Garland, Texas, Kyla Painter of Eugene, Ore., and Matt Randolph of Garland, Texas; and his four legged pal, Buddy.

Zeke was preceded in death by his partner, Mary McMaster, parents and sisters: Pam and Kelli Harvell.

His final wishes will be honored with cremation, followed by a private family ceremony on the Oregon Coast at Cape Perpetua. A celebration of Zeke’s life will be held at a later date.
