Funeral services were held in the Methodist church (sic) here Monday afternoon for Arthur Dunken, who died at 10:30 last Friday morning at Superior, where he had been a patient for 16 days. The Rev. Mr. Harold J. Coates officiated. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).

Arthur Dunken, son of John and Mary Susan Dunken, was born on his father's farm north of Nelson, Nebr., Jan 31, 1880, and passed away at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior, Nebr., June 3, 1955, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 3 days.

As a youth he attended the Pleasant View United Brethren church (sic). He grew up on the farm and spent all of his life in Nuckolls county (sic) with the exception of a short time when he lived in Stuttgart, Ark.

On Dec. 26, 1907, he married Lena Cordes who passed away Jan. 27, 1919. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Lucile Jackson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mrs. Mina Bueoy of Nelson, Nebr.

On Aug. 25, 1923, he married Ilah Belle Ohlson who passed away Jan 26, 1946.

He was a rural mail carrier and retired in 1945 after 28 years of service.

He was a faithful member of the I.O.O.F. lodge (sic) of Nelson for over 30 years. He also belonged to the Superior Encampment No. 63 and the Rebekah lodge (sic) of Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his two daughters; a sister, Mrs. Grace Dircks of Winslow, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Gayle, Don, Jo Anna and Linda Jackson, Marcia and Richard Bueoy, nieces and nephews and many friends.
