Mrs. York was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Natchez, the daughter of John and Eliza Greene.
She was a retired nurse's assistant. She first served at Providence Baptist Church and later joined Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her husband, Elder Dave York Sr. She was also a mother and a faithful member.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dave York Sr.; son, Dave (Rose) York Jr.; daughters, Glenda Thomas, Vera (Ronald) Dunmore of Natchez, Verna (Larry) Armstrong of Jackson, Sheila (Stan) Wilson of Montgomery, Ala., Shirley Johnson of Jonesboro, GA and Patricia (Gregory) Tillman of Natchez; brothers, John (Betty) Greene Jr. and Robert (Carrie) Greene, all of Natchez; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; special sister, Rosie Bethley of St. Louis, Mo.; special friends, Ida B.
