Crow Chief's Wife Dead; Cancer Cause
Billings, July 23--Kills Together, wife of Plenty Coos, Chief of the Crow Indian tribe, died at the Chief's home in Pryor on the reservation. Members of the tribe from all sections of the reservation gathered at the bedside when the end came and voiced their lamentations at the passing of one who had endeared herself to her people.
Kills Together was 55 years of age and had been the wife of Chief Plenty Coos for 30 years. They were married in 1893 by the Rev. Fr. J. P. Prando, the first missionary to work among the Crow Indians.
While on a business visit to Billings Last April, Chief Plenty Coos fell from a hotel window while chasing an imaginary dog in sleep walking and suffered a broken leg. While he was confined to his bed in a local hospital, his wife was constantly at his bedside, sleeping in a cot in his room at night. It was during this time in the hospital that Kills Together became seriously ill. She improved slightly, however, and was moved to the chief's home at Pryor.
Mrs. Kills Together was buried Sunday afternoon from St. Charles mission church.
